Follow these steps to check your Mac's processor type:
Click the Apple icon in the top-left corner
Select About This Mac
Look for Processor or Chip under the Overview tab
- If it says Apple M1 or Apple M2, choose the Universal Installer
- If it says Intel, choose the Intel-only Installer
